What I do with your information

The short version: I collect the minimum I need to answer you and to run sessions, I do not pass it to anyone, and you can ask me what I hold about you at any time.

What this website collects

If you send a question through the website, I get your name, your email address and whatever you wrote. That is all the website collects. The free session guide is a plain download, so asking for it tells me nothing about you. There are no analytics trackers and no advertising cookies on it.

Once you have booked, I send you a link to the form I ask you to fill in beforehand. That one does ask about your health and your history, because I need it to look after you well. It is emailed straight to me and nothing from it is stored on this website or kept in a database. From my inbox it goes into your file, which is stored securely, kept for seven years and then destroyed.

Bookings run through Google's appointment calendar, so what you enter there is also handled by Google under Google's privacy policy. Messages and forms from the website reach my inbox through Resend, an email delivery service, and stay in my email from then on.

Where it goes, and that it leaves New Zealand

Worth saying plainly, because it applies to the health information on the form as much as to a one line question. Resend delivers the email from servers in the United States, and my inbox and calendar are Google's, held on their servers overseas. So your information does leave New Zealand, and once it is with those companies it is also subject to the laws of the countries they operate in.

I have kept the number of services involved as small as I can, and both publish privacy terms that commit them to protecting what passes through them. Nothing is stored on the website itself. If you would rather not send health information over the internet at all, say so and we will find another way to do it, on paper or in person.

What I use it for

To answer you, and to arrange and run your sessions. I will not add you to a mailing list you did not ask for, and I will not email you constantly.

What I never do

I do not sell, rent or pass on your details to anyone. What you bring to a session stays with me. The only exceptions are the ones any practitioner has, where there is a serious risk of harm to you or someone else, and I will always try to talk with you first if that ever came up.

Your rights

Under the Privacy Act 2020 you can ask me what information I hold about you, ask me to correct it, or ask me to delete it. Email thrivetogetherhavening@gmail.com and I will sort it out. If you are not happy with how I have handled something, you can also contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner.
